Prajñā
The Patidar community is one of the largest communities in the world. It is compelling, that even if you go to the remotest corner of the world, you will find a Patel running an entrepreneurial store providing for the people. It is also admirable that the community values providing for others, stemming from their roots in farming. This speaks to their resilience and hardworking nature, which has likely been passed down through generations.
Prajna is going to be one step further. Prajna will stand as a beacon of hope, a space to gain knowledge and prosper in the new modern era. The center will be known as the Atheneum of knowledge, a menagerie of all things accessible and an important first step towards a brighter future. A place that will provide the future Rabindranath Tagores and Kalpana Chawlas.
Prajna is designed as multiple volumes, initiating the notions of connectivity through juxtaposition and heterogeneity. The design is broken into four Blocks of varying hierarchies. Mother temple in the east, the other buildings start falling into place through multiple axis and heights. Taking advantage of the reservoir at the north, the school sweeps across the site in manifold heights generating a perspective
vantage. It is designed as a homage to Shakti Pithas, metaphorically depicting the three avatars of Maa Umiya. The plan is a reinterpretation of Sitar held by Goddess Sarasvati. The form of the buildings depicts the weapon of Maa Kali and the environment is derived from Goddess Laxmi and her nature to her disciples.
The play of multiple Blocks gives a playful nature to the school. The ghats and the environment create a magnificent view of the overpowering functional building for the community. .
